I make things with cardboard & papier mache—sometimes I add other odds & ends.

 

 I am inspired by old things—books, toys, photographs, costumes, puppets—as well as the work of many artists—past & present—especially “outsiders” & children .

 

I grew up in a small town in Arkansas. In those years (I was born in 1947) the public schools did not offer a single art class in grades 1 through 12. So here I am now, working with materials I likely would have been offered then, had there been any art classes.

 

I live in Gainesville, Florida with my partner, and a black cat, an orange cat, & a 14 year old hound dog.
